15th Sunday This was a beautifull & Pleasant Sabbath day I
was at Church but there was no preaching
16th About the farm &c to day

18th Went to the Bend a cow hunting &c
19th At work about the Farm &c
20th Went a fishing in company with B F & G B Martin & G G '
Lilly to day but we had the usual Fisherman Luck
21st I was Hunting a cow that I bought of H Bentley again to day
I succeeded in finding her and got her Home this evening
22nd I was at Sabbath School this morning also at Church `

23rd The weather is unusually dry and it looks like a doubtfull

25th Went to Henderson in Company with Thos S Smith I paid I
Hopkins & Stites $69. 19 in full of account to date Expenses &c $10

28th Went to Mt Vernon Ind in Company with P Kirk I received
from J H Butler $177 amt due on the Rent of the Nesler Farm for the
year 1869 I was also at the Primary Election &c I
29th Sunday I was at Church this morning Elder Fallan Preached
this was a warm day
30th I went to Henderson this morning to hunt for a hand to work
on the farm but did not succeed in getting one
31st At work about the farm &c we have had several slight
showers of rain to day the first for 4 weeks but not enough to do much
good The month has been unusually dry especially for May as there has
been at no time rain enough to wet the ground I am verry badly behind
hand with my work and the present system of labor is such that Farmers
are likely to keep behind I have received from all sources during the
month $425 I have paid out during the same time $400. 70
