September lst -· This was a Pleasant day for the begining of
the month The young Folks of the neighborhood had a Picnic near
my house to day and I had to go of course There was a large crowd
as usual and Plenty to eat and everything passed off pleasantly
2nd Went to Henderson to day to mill There was a tremendous
rain in the dity to day I remained in town and went to the Encampment
of the IOOF but managed to get Home about 2 oclock AM of the 3rd
3d My late hours have made me somewhat drowsy during the
day I went to Hunt some Holgs in company with Ed Cotton on the
Anderson Place We managed to get two Home
4th Went to Corrydon to Church this morning in Company with
G B Martin We heard a discourse from the Methodist Presiding Elder
(Frooge) which I suppose he thinks he is right but I could not see the
truth accordimg to his way of thinking
5th Went to Henderson in company with B F Martin I was sum-
moned as a Juror but I had a Lawfull Excuse being a Deputy County
Court Clerk I was verry unwell all day and when I got Home I was
sick sure enough
Sth I have not been well enough to do much to day I went a cow
hunting in company with Hosea Smith
7th Doing nothing in Particular
` 8th I was sick again to day
9th Went to the Walnut Bottom I wrote a Deed from Ed Warfield
& wife to Mrs Bliss I had a hard days work and poor pay
10th At work about the Farm in the morning And went to Church
meeting in the evening Elder Lacy Preached
` llth Went to Sabbath School at the Methodist Church Came i
Home and found Adelia verry sick She had a verry Hard Ague
12th I have been unwell all day and have been in the House
13th I Had a verry hard Chill myself to day One of the severest
I have ever had in my life
14th Sick again to day
