30th Sunday This was the 5th Bunday in Oct and there was no
Preaching I was at Sunday School at the Baptist Church in the evening
This has been a regular Fall day with occasional Showers of Rain and_
this evening the wind is Blowing Cold But we have no right to Compaiin
as this has been one of the Pleasantest Fall Months I Have ever seen
or remember of
31st This ends the Month I went to Henderson to day on
Business Connected with the Hicks Security Business and remained
in the City all night at the Hancock House
During this month I have been Collecting up my Cattly &c .
I have made but few Trades and Collected but little money I Hope
to be able to do better during the Coming Mojith
November lst — This was a pleasant and Beautifull Morning I
went from Henderson to Evansville on the Steamer Hartford qnd Back
to day Evansville Presents quite a Business appearance and quite a
Contrast to Henderson I met a number of acquaintances in the City
and spent a verry pleasant day We that is J H Jacobs & Myself remained
in Henderson and Went to the Lodge after which we Came Home
2nd I went Back to Henderson this morniéi to deliver a Bull I - `
sold to Mr Fenchler of Evansville He weighed 1180 which at 3 1/2
cents Amt to $41. 30 I gave $40 for Him a Poor Profit
3d About the Farm &c to day
4th I was Hunting the Cattle I Bought of C Bell We Managed to A
find them and get them Home in the evening
5th Went to Henderson in Company with B F Martin on the Hicks A
Business again _ V
6th Sunday Went to Sunday School and Church in the morning
Elder Woodbridge of Corrydon Preached I was also at Sunday School
in the evening
7th About the farm &c to day
8th This was our Congressional Election I was Clerk at Walnut
Bottom The vote Polled was a verry small one as there was only 80
whites & 40 Blacks that voted the Whites all Democratic and the Blacks
all Republican
