26th I drove 18 Head of my Cattle to the Long place to day

27th Elder Lacy Baptized ll young men in the Ohio River at
Longs Landing to day Again as I stood on the Banks of this Beautifull
Stream and Saw these young men go down into and come up out of the
water i could but pray that the good Lord might hold them as if in the
Hollow of his hand and that they all might be Bright and Shineing Lights
in the Church on Earth and finally be admitted to that glorious Church l
above I took dinner at Bro Utleys and was at Church again at night

28th Went to Henderson to day I followed the Funeral Pro-
cession from the City to the Cemetery of Poor Jud Sharrarel Poor
Missrable Man to die in the Drunken fit I knew him in better days
and as I saw the Clods piled above him I could but Draw the Mantle
of Charity over his Pitifull end a young man of Kind Heart but one
bad failing I came Home in Company with Dr Talbird who preached
for us at night
29th I went to Corrydon to the debate in company with Dr Talbird _
The Debate was opened by tlldlr. Frogge of the Methodist Church I
thought him a man of Considerable Ability He was followed by Mr.
Flowers of the Camelite Church He appears to be pretty well posed
in the Scriptures Came Home in the evening This was a wet day
30th I was busy about the farm this morning and went to Dr
Tqylors in Company with Dr Talbird in the evening to see Capt Nat
Taylor who is down with Rm Rheumatism I fear never to get well
and this evening while that Earnest Grey Headed Man of god Prayed I
ferfrently for him Icould but offer my own feeble Petition that the
Blessed Saviousr who died for Sinners who will Pardon all who look
untio him in faith might when the feeble Body fails take him to himself
I was also at Church at night Dr Talbird preached a most excellent
Sermon ‘
