27th Gathering Corn on the Pierce place again to day
28th I went to G B Martins this morning to fix up a Deed
Mortgage &c Between him and Mr Matingly Went from there to
Squire Turners to a trial &c and was up at the Point to Witness
the Base Ball Match in the evening Between the Walnut Bottom Club
and our Hill Boys Our Boys won the game by a score of 41 to 23 This
has been a beautifull Fall week
29th Sunday There was no preaching at our Churches to day
I was at Sabbath School at the Baptist Church in the evening This
has been one of those lovely fall days that we feel too short for so
much Beauty »
30th I moved my Forces to the Anderson Farm to Gather Corn
this morning and I have been superintending affairs Generally
31st The Beautifull month of October closes with to day It
has been indeed a beautifu].l month most too dry but warm and
pleasant
I have been busy during the month collecting my Cattle
&c During the month I have made many trades principally in Cattle
but the Market rules so low that I am  x affraid to venture much
more in the trade My Corn Crop in the Bottom will not yield near as `
much as I expected but considering the season I will make a fair ‘ 
average Crop
November lst — The month comrnenced with a fine rain this
morning which was verry much needed p
2nd I was at the Anderson Farm gathering Corn &c this morning .

4th I went to the Anderson Farm this morning I drove down a
Part of my Cattle to a Stock Field I took 15 Head that I bought from I
V Powell & that I Bought at Alleys sale 2 do from J W Eakins 1 from
Rayb°[1°rn 1 from W A Towles 3 Cows & Calves Bot of J A Shanks 3
yearlings Bot at J H Clays Sale 2 steers & heifer 1 Red Heifer
from J V Lilly 1 steer from Negro 2 raised by myself one marked
the other known as the Bently Calf unmarked I had in the field 14 head
I was at the Base Ball M at Crutchfields Meadow Between
the Hill Boys & Benders again the Benders won the game by a score
of 47 to 41
