24th Sunday I went to the River again to day Elder Miller Bap-
tized 23 Persons in the Ohio River this morning With one or two ex-
ceptions they were all Grown and a number of them Heads of Families
Oh how Rejoiced we should be as a Church and People God has once
more Powerfully revived his work axnong us Many have learned to
Praise him who were Strangers to him and his Church has been Built
up I trust with those who will be usefull and Good Members To day
I expect will close the meeting There has been 53 additions to Church
13 by letter 2 by relation and 2 restored 33 have been Baptized and 4
remain to be baptized Yet this includes all that have joined the Church
up to the meeting to night There were a number of Mourners to night
and the Indications are that the meeting should go on and an appointment
was made for to morrow night
25th I went to Henderson in company with J H Jacobs I went to
church again at night but as we failed to get a Preacher the meeting
closed for the present I trust to commence again soon And to night
while I calmly retrospect the past two weeks I feel to rejoice for what
I have felt and enjoyed I thank my God for what He has done for others
26th Went to the Anderson Farm to day &c
27th The weather has turned verry Cold In fact the whole of
this month has been verry Cold and dry and last night the wind got
round Northwards with a vengeance We finished gathering the Corn I
Bought at Mrs Williams Sale & I got 266 Bushels in all Amt to $62. 83
Of this Amount I owe W F Williams $@2% $3. OO
28th Another Cold day I went to Henderson I had no Idea it was
so cold untill I got to the City and found myself allmost Froze and they
said the Thermometer was only above zero 4 degrees I found that the
Horse Disease or what is Called the Eppizootic had made its appearance
there I had k 5 Head of Horses in the City to day and if it is catching I
am gone up on the Horse Business
29th & 30th The weather has been so extremely Cold that I have
` not felt like doing anything during these two last days of the month but
set by a good fire This has been the Dryest month I have ever known
for November as it has not rained enough to wet the ground during the
entire month The most of the time we have had verry Severe windy
weather which will greatly injure the Tobacco crop that is exposed in
Sheds and open Barns as the Crop has not been in Order to Strip since
it was cured sufficiently to Handle
