Arrangement note Collection is arranged by format. Biographical note Thomas Buckner settled in Virginia around 1780 and married Hannah Burton of Virginia. Together, Thomas and Hannah Buckner had twenty children. Among them was, Colonel Robert Buckner, an officer of the War of 1812 and a figure associated with General John Hunt Morgan's invasion of the North, July 9, 1863. Robert Buckner maintained a mercantile business, Buckner & Hughes Wholesale Grocers, Commission, Forwarding and Boat Store Merchants located on Commercial Row in Louisville, Kentucky.
