Entomology cmd Botomy—The laboratories of the Department of II
. Entomology and Botany of the Experiment Station occupy rooms on the tome
second floor of the building on the corner of South Limestone Street and regal
Washington Avenue. They consist of a large general laboratory devoted A cal 8
to both entomology and botany, in which are incubators, an autoclav, a I
steam sterilizer, a hot air sterilizer, microscopes and other apparatus Sym
required for the study of living things, both animals and plants. Adjoin- stm
ing this laboratory is a subdivision devoted to photography, in which t° th
are cameras suited to making enlargements and lantern slides, and Bere
others constructed for use with the microscope. The third room is oeeu- and
pied with the insect collections and is used as a private laboratory by dew
the Head of the Department and assistants who are engaged in research mm
work. A fourth laboratory is devoted to seed testing and is equipped wml
with electric incubators, blowers for the removal of impurities, a refrig- J
erator, chemical balance and other appliances employed in the testing of Of lg
seeds either for purity or germination. Law
An Herbarium, a reference collection intended primarily for use in  
prosecuting a study of the botany of Kentucky, is one of the best, if not H 1
the best in the State. It is placed in a large room on the same floor, lac
used also as an Assembly Room on special occasions. impl
An out-laboratory, constituting an important part of the equipment DBP
of the Department, is an Insectary, consisting of a head house and con-
servatory devoted to the study of the life—histories of plants and insects gist
and of remedies for their injuries. . 962
The ofhce work for all these laboratories is done in the rooms “ ‘_
adjoining them and is furnished with a very good collection of technical  
works devoted to entomology and botany, including sets of most of thé nl`

Entomology and Zoology—The laboratories of the Department of [mg
Entomology and Zoology of the School of Agriculture are devoted l3Fg€lY fos
to instruction work and are located on the Hrst floor of the Natural
Science Building on the University campus. They consist of two IHFEB Ow
