·r the Employment Bureau.
  Many students find it necessary to earn money with which to help n
i any to support themselves while in college.· An employment bureau has
know been organized for the purpose of aidmg them in securing work.
on or If a student desires to employ part of his time to earn money, he reports
to the bureau the number of hours he can work. Many good positions
have been secured for the students in this way. There are about fifty
various newspaper routes in the city; all of them are carried by college
other men. The state farm, which is a part of the University, employs many
gtygn students. If the prospective student has only one or two hours each
ism. day for working, it is so arranged by the farm managers that he is
= him always employed. A number of students wait on tables at the boarding
ldan. houses for their board. The merchants and tailoring establishments of
the city employ students to carry bundles. Young men are employed at
hotels and restaurants and other work at numerous odd jobs at the
homes of the citizens. A number of the young men are employed as
mms, stenographers in the city. Students seeking employment should apply
Vaygi at the office of the Employment Bureau.
Dormitories for Men.
Young men may reside in the dormitories on the university campus,
·ority ‘ or in private houses approved by the faculty. The dormitories afford
an of lodging for about two hundred students. County appointees are supplied
with rooms first, then other students in order of application. The occu-
pants of the rooms are required to keep them in order. The janitors ‘
attend to the halls and the removal of rubbish. 'lhe matron has her
lowg: Office in the new dormitory and inspects the rooms of both buildings
regularly. If a student is sick, the fact is reported to the medical ‘ ‘
officer. The medical officer inspects each room regularly as to its
cleanliness and general hygienic conditions.
Dormitory for Women.
Patterson Hall, the young women’s university home, is under the
immediate direction and management of the Dean of Women. The Hall
