A general interest which have no particular
bearing on their jobs will be asked to take such courses during lunch

given, he should take the matter to the Director's Office. In any _

notified if you plan to take a course, even an evening course, so that
this information can be added to your personnel record. This is for
your benefit.

AFFIRMATIVE ACTION: This note comes from Nancy Ray:"Looking at this
#year's faculty from my perspective as affirmative—Ection officer, it
appears we realized a gain of black and women faculty. We hired 252
new faculty, 91 female. We hired 167 faculty for the Lexington cam-
pus, 47 female. (This excludes librarians and administrative faculty)
In 1972 women were 19.2% of the total comparable faculty; for 1973 the
proportion is 21.2%. If we include the librarians and administrative
faculty, women comprise 23% of the total facu1ty."
