j Students who complete a four years’ course of study and   TC
thereby obtain their degrees will have time to meet the require-
ments for entrance to all medical schools. This gives an oppor- _P.
tunity for a broader background in the natural and social sciences ~ M
I and in the arts, which will be of advantage both in medical school
~ and in later life. The student may elect any field of concentration P
{ and may major in any department of the field which he desires. i
  Sjnce the requirements of medical schools vary considerably as _
1 to specified entrance subjects, it is essential that the student decide C
; early as to the schools to which he wishes to apply for entrance
  and inform the adviser of pre-medical students. The adviser will
' give him full information concerning the additional entrance re-
? quirements that are specified by the various medical schools. Cer- I
¤ tification as to fitness for entrance to Medical School is made by a I
standing committee of the faculty. " Z
No student is to be allowed to take, with the sanction of the ‘
. University of Kentucky, the aptitude test of the Committee on
‘ Aptitude Tests of the Association of American Medical Colleges
unless he has a standing of 1.4 or better. ,

°Students who plan to spend more than two years in the University
may extend the required subjects into the third or fourth years and thus
` make room for Social Science and other arts courses ln the Lower Division.
Two years of Foreign Language ln college are recommended, or the
equivalent ln high school, although a few medical schools require none or
only one year. lf the student is a candidate for the A.B. or B.S., he will
be required to take from 4 to 28 quarter hours of Foreign Language, ac-
cording to his entrance units.
