Y , FACULTY ADVISERS
l`   Upon entering the College each freshman is assigned to a fac-
€» ulty adviser by the Personnel Office. It is the function of this
. faculty member to serve as a friendly, personal counselor to the _
f- student, to confer with the student concerning his schedule, and to
  make to the Dean recommendations concerning schedules. In his
{ sophomore year, the student is assigned to another faculty adviser
    by the Dean of the College.

_ j The following options or fields of interest are available to stu-
» dents in agriculture: (1) Agricultural Education, (2) Agricultural
’ Entomology, (3) Agricultural Extension, (4) Agronomy, (5) Animal
Husbandry, (6) Dairying, (7) Farm Economics and Rural Sociology,
2 (8) General Agriculture, (9) Horticulture, (10) Markets and Rural
. Finance, (11) Poultry, (12) Science Applied to Agriculture.
  An option consists of a minimum of 21 quarter hours of courses
‘ not open to freshmen. The student normally selects his option dur-
  ing the last quarter of the sophomore year, though the choice may
3. be made earlier. A transfer student who has completed 6 or more
; quarters selects an option when he first registers in the College.
· When the option is selected, the Dean appoints a professor to serve
` , as the student’s adviser. The adviser recommends the schedule for
li each quarter and confers with the student concerning selection of .
