¤ Home economics in the University of Kentucky has for its
purpose the education of students for home and family living to
t° the end that worthy home membership may be a dynamic factor in
` social progress. The curriculum includes courses in art, physical
ad sciences, social sciences, and Home Economics. Thus it pro-
al vides a liberal scientific and technical education. The program is
’ sufficiently flexible to meet the requirements for both the bach-
ly , elor of science and the master of science degrees in home conomics
m with special emphasis on the following fields of interest:
Ed 1. General home economics as a preparation for effective
" - home making.
id , 2. Home economics education as preparation for teaching in
‘S* high schools, colleges, and emergency schools and projects.
3. Home economics as preparation for careers in the com-
— mercial field. _
_ 4. Institution economics for hospital dietetics, management of
>n food units in hotels, restaurants, schools, and other in-

  , 5. Extension home economics in federal and state programs.
rs . To complete the requirements for a degree in twelve quarters
a student must earn 17 or more hours per quarter. A schedule of
Q 19 hours is the maximum load for a student whose standing the
preceding quarter was between 1 and 2. A student who makes a
standing of 2 or more in any quarter may carry up to 22 hours the
