OUTLOOK: Indiana's defending Big Ten champions lost two starters, conference most valuable player Mike Woodson and guard Butch Carter, but Coach Bobby Knight has 12 returning lettermen. Chief among the returnees is guard Isiah Thomas, a starter on the 1980 Olympic team and a second team All-Big Ten selection as a freshman; center Ray Tolbert, who has led IU in rebounding the past three years; guard Randy Wittman, who is coming back after missing virtually all of last season with a stress fracture of his ankle; and forward Steve Bouchie, who started 16 games last year and averaged 6.5 points per game.
