- This department has a three-fold function in (a) training of students
who wish to go into broadcasting as a profession, (b) providing courses in

examination.
Radio Arts classes are held in the Radio Studio section of the top floor ’
of McVey Hall. Professional facilities utilized in the laboratory work of

SOCIAL WORK '
Social Work consists of a network of services designed to meet a wide
range of human needs. A career in social work offers a choice of interesting Z
and varied activities, the challenge of community leadership, and the satis- C
faction of service to others as well as the security of an expanding pro-
fession. g
The Department of Social Work is a member of, and accredited by,
the National Association of Schools of Social Administration. Its cur-
riculum, based upon the national standards in the field, leads to a degree of H
Bachelor of Arts with a major in Social Work. Students, upon its comple-
tion, are encouraged to continue their technical preparation in graduate
professional schools of social work. However, our graduates are currently H
holding responsible positions in the public social services, recreational activ-
itics, and in other social agencies at the junior professional level for which
they are qualified. Students majoring in social work are guided in the selec-
_ tion of courses giving a broad liberal arts background, an understanding of H
human behavior, and the social, economic, and political forces shaping our D
society. Sl
