In 1850, the third constitution provided that a circuit court be estab- E g jy“
lished in the county, having the same jurisdiction as formerly, but subject i T T4
to change by the general assembly. Circuit judges elected from each dis- T p 'qT?
trict presided over these courts, and the state was redistricted, changing l I
the district in which Muhlenberg County was located. The circuit court had ll
original jurisdiction on all matters of law and equity where jurisdiction was L gpl
not delegated to another tribunal, and all necessary power to execute its ` 1 _j
jurisdiction. It was a court of record, and was held at the courthouse at ‘ rg
a time specified by the legislature, although the circuit judge had power to _ T ll
