While we asked you to weight your serious cases in
accordance with the echedule used by the Department of Labor we aleo
advised you that we did not consider that your plant would be included
in the safety oonteet.
would suggest that you mane up your form #eO? for the
month of December and of course, tne front side will snow the actual
lost time during the month regardless of when the accident happened. On
the reverse eiie for the safety contest would suggest that you weight as
~- many cases ae you can and let it go at that. If you keep a record of the
weight assigned in fatal eases and partial permanent disability cases on
your regular record card the proper weight can be assigned after the
exact extent of the injury ie known so that figures zould be made up if _
necessary at any time and for any given period in accordance with the plan
· of weighting eerioue cases.
No doubt you will have several cases WHSTQ it will be
absolutely impossible to deterwine what weight should be assigned. For
instance, you had a broken back case on De:. 22nd. "hie may turn out to
be a fatal case or it may turn out to be a permanent total disability
case and it will be iwpoesible to assign a penalty to this case until
you Know what the final result ie and when the final result ie known you
can indicate on your reeorae the actual weight assigned.

hear $ir:·‘ Re: h. C. mcCrimmon a
Wisconsin steel company.
rour letter of the 26th and copy of mr. Cambridae's letter
of the 29th were received during our absence. p
We have replied to the letter from mcCrimmon's attorney, "
copy of which you sent us and we enclose you a copy oi our reply. We
have purposely not asked for the affidavit offered to be secured,as
we prefer first securing the name of the mans doctor and having him ·
interviewed before he may commit himself un-thoughtly by statements
in an affidavit. ‘
we believe that mr. cambridge‘s suggestionsof information to ·
be secured are valuable and we particularly call your attention to the
claimants present statement that his face and shoulders as well as his '
eyes were injured. xour doctors can certainly make a clear statement
as to whether the face and shoulders had any evidence of inury or
whether there, was any complaint of injury to them.)@$w¢yaa ®¤¤jn¢Z%-~—
Q This man probably had a huddie working with him on both dates
of alleged ingury and a statement from this huddie should be of value. A
Apparently a statement of days of his wages during the month of April »”
will be of value. _ o
we think it well, as sugqested in mr. oambridge's letter,to .
e communicate with the Birmingham office of the International harvester
Company and secure the name of a specialist there upon whom we may
call and have that office communicate with anyother doctor whose name
we may receive from claimants attorney in view of the claim made and`
‘ we believe that we should call upon this man to submtt to a specialist
for examination of his condition and for tests necessary to determine _
whether any existing conditions is caused by an existing disease. we
‘ note a reference to this man having been incarcerated. when and where
and for what was this?
Kindly ley us have any infonnation secured,as above suggested
and along the lines suggested by mr. cambridge.
iours very truly, /’
