Collection Overview

Biography / History
The Robbins family photographs were acquired in 2001. The photographs were originally housed in a scrapbook with black pages and were removed from the scrapbook for preservation reasons. The donor states that the photographs depict the Robbins family, probably of Paris, Kentucky (Bourbon County), but little is known about the family or the provenance of the photographs.
Scope and Content
The Robbins family photographs include nearly 170 images, ranging in size from less than 1" x 1" to 5" x 7". Many photographs depict friends or family members, and others are scenes of Kentucky, New York, and Washington, D.C. Several photographs are University of Kentucky related. Most photographs contain at least a partial description and a date. Dates of photographs range from 1912 to 1933, but most are from 1912 to 1921. An inventory of descriptions and dates has been created; descriptions within quotation marks were taken directly from handwritten titles on the photographs.
