semester, according to the report of
standings of fraternities just issued
by the denn of men. In winning th!s
honor. Deltn Tnu Delta jumped from
seventh to first place nnd for the
fourth time won the scholnrship cup
given by the University Y. M. C. A.

Many interesting comparisons are
to be found in n comparison of the
relative standings of the fraternities
for the two semesters. In the first
semester Phi Delta Thtta won the
cup with a standing of 1.52 while
Delta Tau was seventh with 1.45.
This last semester Delta Tnu Delta
made 1.69 in gaining first place nnd
Thcta fell to twelfth with
1.31. Chi Sigma Alpha was second
both semesters with 1.48 the first se
mester and 1.G2 the second. Among

fraternities Sigma
Nu won second place the first semes
ter while in the second semester
Alpha Tau Omega was the runner-up- .

Y. M. C. A. Offers Silver Cup
Every semester the Y. M. C. A.
offers a silver cup to the fraternity
making the highest standing for that
session.
The fraternity first winning
this cup for four successive terms
or for six semesters is awarded the
cup permanently. After the inaugura
tion of the custom Delta Tau Delta
won the cup for three successive se
mesters, losing it to Alpha Gamma
Epsilon who also held it for three
semesters. Phi Delta Theta has one
leg on the cup and by winning last
semester Delta Tau has gained an
other semester giving it four legs on,
the trophy.

The report issued by the dean of
men shows that 429 or 32.2 per cent
of the men students of the university
are members of social fraternities.
The scholastic report for the wom
en's fraternities has not been completed as yet but it will be published

Dr. Thomas Brent Moore, Formerly of Lexingon and Stu-- n
dent at U. K., Dies in
Oklahoma

The body of a man found hanging
by a wire from a bridge near Norman,
Okla., early Monday morning, September 21, was identified as that of
Thomas Brent Moore, associate professor of economics at the University
of Oklahoma and a graduate of the
University of Kentucky.
The identification was made by Dr.
A. B. Adams, a member of the University of Oklahoma faculty.
Doctor Moore, who was 48 years
old, went to Norman, the seat of the
University of Oklahoma, last Monday
from his home in Sumpter, S. C. He

was unmarried.
Doctor Moore was the son of the
late Charles C. Moore, of Lexington,
who became famous as tho editor of
Tho Blue Grass Blade; a paper published here for a number of years.
Thomas Brent Moore was reared hero
and lived with his father on tho Rus-sCave pike until 1901 when ho was
graduated from tho University of
Kentucky. He received an A. B. degree from the university hero and
then went to Columbia University in
New York, whero he received his doctor's degree.
Ho is remembered by tho instructors of the University of Kentucky as
an exceptionally bright student. He
is well remembered here where he
has u number of distant relatives and
many friends.
