RESOLUTION
                              ON
                      FLOYD H. WRIGHT

Mr. Floyd H. Wright served two full terms of office on the Board
of Trustees of the University of Kentucky. In so doing, he served his
community and his University seriously, competently, and well.

From his many associations--as a member of the Board of Di-
rectors of the First National Bank and Trust Company of Lexington. as
a charter member of the Lexington-Fayette County Airport Board, as
a member of the Board of Directors and past president of the Idle Hour
Country Club, as an alumnus of the University of Kentucky- -he could
competently gauge and reflect the opinions and the feelings of important
segments of the public of the state. From his vast experience as a very
successful farmer and businessman and from his close identification
with many aspects of the tobacco industry, he could call on a large
reservoir ofknowledge and many associations to participate in important
decisions by the Board of Trustees.

At their lovely home Mr. Wright and Mrs. Wright charmingly
entertained many important visitors to Central Kentucky and with their
gracious charm and taste won many friends for the University of Kentucky.

Mr. Wright brought to meetings of the Board of Trustees a back-
ground of experience, judgment, and wisdom that could not be matched.
At times of crisis or decision, his opinion was sought and willingly given.

Upon his retirement from the Board of Trustees, the Board expresses
its grateful appreciation for his contributions and services to his University
and his State.
