This collection consists of paper materials and artifacts pertaining to the Louisville College of Pharmacy. The Louisville College of Pharmacy was an independent institution dedicated to training pharmacists through classroom education and working with established pharmacists. The Louisville College of Pharmacy was established on August 16, 1870 due in large part to the efforts of C. Lewis Diehl. In 1947, the Louisville College of Pharmacy merged with the University of Kentucky, forming the foundation of pharmaceutical education at the University of Kentucky. This collection consists of materials that pertain to the Louisville College of Pharmacy before it merged with the University of Kentucky. Also included in the collection is a certificate presented by the University of Kentucky to Gordon L. Curry in 1949 for fifty years of loyalty to the University of Kentucky. It is included in this collection because he worked for the Louisville College of Pharmacy for forty-eight of the fifty years. The majority of the materials in this collection belonged to either C. Lewis Diehl or Gordon L. Curry. The collection is divided into twenty-five series and seventy sub-series. The Grades sub-series consists of one folder and contains restricted information about student's grades. The Lecture Notes sub-series consists of twelve folders and contains lecture notes for classes at the Louisville College of Pharmacy. Some of the lecture notes belonged to C. Lewis Diehl and others may have belonged to Gordon L. Curry. A few of the notes pre-date the Louisville College of Pharmacy. The Schedules sub-series consists of one folder and contains class lecture and laboratory schedules of the Louisville College of Pharmacy. The Syllabi / Syllabuses sub-series consists of one folder and contains syllabi / syllabuses for classes at the Louisville College of Pharmacy. The Theses sub-series consists of 136 folders and contains theses written by students in the Louisville College of Pharmacy. Many of the theses do not have names on them or have code names / pseudonyms in place of the actual name. The Theses Binders sub-series consists of eight folders and contains binders and folders that enclosed student theses. The Theses Envelopes sub-series consists of one folder an envelope that held a student thesis. The date span of this series is 1860 - 1939.

It is now located in case 1, drawer 7, folder 11 and is labeled as item J206. The materials in this collection are not dated (n.d.) except for the oversized print which is from November, 1887.

One of the composites is of the faculty and senior class of 1932 and the other is of the Phi Delta Chi Fraternity, Alpha Beta Chapter. The Catalogs sub-series consists of three folders and contains catalogs of classes from various pharmacy schools. The Charts sub-series consists one folder and contains a chart showing Organic Chemical Transformations and a vitamin chart. The Journal sub-series consists of seven folders and contains various journals, relating to pharmacy, in their entirety. The Pamphlets sub-series consists of four folders and contains pamphlets relating to various topics in the field of pharmacy. The Regulations sub-series consists of two folders and contains various government regulations, such as tax code and weights and measure standards, that relate to the field of pharmacy. The Reports sub-series consists of six folders and contains various reports pertaining to the field of pharmacy, such as the Report on the Progress of Pharmacy and an alumni report from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy. The Reprints sub-series consists of fifteen folders and contains reprints of articles from various pharmaceutical journals. A few of the articles were written by C. Lewis Diehl. The Building Fund sub-series consists of one folder and contains receipts from the Building fund of the Louisville College of Pharmacy which was used to pay the debt and interest on the College Building. The Building Fund Campaign sub-series consists of fifteen folders and contains receipts from the Building Fund Campaign which was a campaign to raise 50,000 dollars for building and property purposes. The Checks sub-series consists of fifty-four folders and contains the receipts of checks written by the Louisville College of Pharmacy for supplies, to pay bills, to pay salaries, etc. The General sub-series consists of one folder and contains the general receipts of various commercial transactions by the Louisville School of Pharmacy. The Matriculation Tickets sub-series consists of one folder and contains matriculation tickets which indicate that the student has matriculated / enrolled and that they have paid a five dollar fee. The medals sub-series consists of one folder and contains receipts for medals purchased by the Louisville College of Pharmacy to be given as awards to students. The Membership Dues sub-series consists of one folder and contains the receipts for membership dues by members of the Louisville College of Pharmacy. The Ownership Certificates sub-series consists of one folder and contains ownership certificates that show that the Louisville College of Pharmacy owns bonds that are furnished by firms and organizations. The Paducah Water Works sub-series consists of one folder and contains bills from the Paducah Water Works that have been marked as paid. The Student Fees sub-series consists of three folders and contains information regarding the payment of student fees which are in the form of correspondence and lists compiled by the treasurer. The date span of this series is 1889 - 1946.
