Scope and Content
Two bills of sale, contain information on the purchase of slaves.
The 1811 document records the sale of "Sharlett," a woman estimated to be twenty years of age for $120 between Bery Hickman and John Smart.
The 1855 document records the sale of "Amy," a woman estimated to be nineteen years of age for $1,000 between D.M. Smith and Lauren H[arold].
