Scope and Content

Materials consist of Wear family documents including family letters, deeds and business agreements. Many of these documents concern the affairs of Archibald H. Wear from Murray, Ky. There are a number of receipts, indentures and several land grants. Also included are personal letters addressed to Archibald H. Wear which contain news of family and friends. In addition letters concern church activities in Murray as well as reports of cholera in Kentucky and Tennessee during the year 1849. A copy of the September 27, 1940 BALLARD YEOMAN (Wickliffe, Ky.) includes a photograph of the newspaper's editor and manager, E. W. Wear.
