39 From: Pan American Petroleum Corpora- tion, Tulsa, Oklahoma--Magnetic Sus- ceptibility Balance and Infrared Catalyst Study Equipment Unit with Accessories. President Dickey stated that the Pan American Petroleum Corporation of Tulsa, Oklahoma, had donated to the Department of Chemistry of the University of Kentucky a Magne-tic Susceptibility Balance and an Infrared Catalyst Study Equipment Unit with accessories. He stated that this gift would be of great value to the Department of Chemistry and recommended that it be accepted. Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, the gift was ordered ac- cepted, and the President was requested to thank the donors. S. Appointments and Other Staff Changes. President Dickey submitted staff appointments, reappointments, salary adjustments, leaves of absence, resignations, promotions and other staff changes requested by deans and heads of departments. COLLEGE OF ARTS AND SCIENCES Appointments Mary A. Gillham, Visiting Instructor, Department of Library Science, for the period beginning July 1, 1960, ending August 31, 1960. Ralston Crawford, Visiting Professor, Department of Art, beginning June 1 1960, ending June 30, 1960. Ruth Ann Stumpe, Visiting Instructor, Department of Library Science, for the period beginning July 1, 1960, ending August 31, 1960. Thelma Sloan, Visiting Instructor, Department of Library Science, for the period beginning July 1, 1960, ending August 31, 1960. Leaves of Absence George P. Faust, Professor, Department of English, Speech & Dramatic Arts, leave for the period beginning September 1, 1960, ending June 30, 1961. Maurice A. Clay, Associate Professor, Department of Physical Education, sabbatical leave for the period beginning September 1, 1960, ending November 30, 1960. I)eceased Edward F.
