S term of four years. A board member must have completed at
O least the eighth grade in school. The duties of the board are
’l supervisory, and in all questions their action takes precedence
B over that of teachers, principals, or supervisors. This board has .
t plenary powers to establish, discontinue, or consolidate schools.
S; Each school subdistrict elects one subdistrict school trustee,
who serves a four-year term. The trustee’s duties are to advise
with the county school superintendent on all matters pertaining
9 to the general welfare of schools in his subdistrict; to exercise
9 general control over the school property in the subdistrict, under
9 general supervision of the board of education; and to nominate
9 competent teachers for each teaching position in his subdistrict.

district. It is the duty of all attending physicians, midwives.

V registrar all births and deaths at which they have oiiiciated.
E A poorhouse commissioner or superintendent can be appointed A
B by the hscal court. This court has full discretionary powers in
t matters pertaining to the care and maintenance of the county’s

B A board of drainage commissioners has been established in
5 Union County under a State law which provides that in counties
l where public ditches, drains, levees, or other improvements of
j similar character are established, it is the duty of the county
g judge to call and preside at an election for each drainage district
