Dr. R.C. Chenault was one-time superintendent of the Eastern Kentucky State Lunatic Asylum in Lexington (now Eastern State Hospital). Mary or Marietta Bowmar was Dr. Chenault's daughter. A.A. Bowmar was publisher of the Woodford SUN newspaper.This collection contains papers of the Chenault and Bowmar families of Central Kentucky. There are three account books of R.C.
