.r Hose should be of the best. For trees it is well to have
e 4 a sufficient length so that the nozzle can be elevated on the
e ` end of a pole among the branches. The precise length will
depend on the size of the trees and on whether or not one
n sprays from a wagon, or trestle, or from the ground. For
a orchard work a length of 10 to 15 feet will serve when the ‘
e · ~ pump is operated from a wagon bed. For shade trees of
r 1 A large size it may be necessary to have 50 feet or more, and P
.- in this case the pump must be a powerful one, such as Dem-
.. i ing’s Bonanza, if a hand pump, but preferably one operated
g by a motor.
'6 · The pumps will last longer and give better service if
Y washed out with clean water whenever done using them.
9 A A _ · The hose ought always to be detached, drained and hung up T
il in a cool place—a cellar is as good as any that is commonly
T available. _-
