Following are Eddie Sutton's postgame comments after Kansas defeated Kentucky, 83-66:
Question: Could you comment on Kenny Walker's injury?
Sutton: The doctor said that his eye was scratched, and he has double vision. So we kept him out of the remainder of the game.

'Sutton: 1 voted tnen^ourmagain this week, they're an outstanding basketball club. I talked to Larry (Brown) last night and I knew they'd be well prepared. Last year they felt they should have won the game and they didn't. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, you can't key on one person.

The 33rd annual University of Kentucky Invitational Tournament features the strongest field in years.    The four teams have a combined record of 21-3.    Kentucky's first-round opponent, East Carolina, is off to its best start since 1962-63, as the Pirates have compiled a        mark.    Their only loss was to powerful Duke.    Friday's first game will pit 6-1 Pepperdine against undefeated SMU (6-0).
EDDIE SUTTON was named Kentucky's head coach April 2,  1985, becoming only che third coach in 55 years at UK.    Prior to coming to Lexington Sutton was at Arkansas for 11 years, where he compiled a winning percentage of 77.6, averaging nearly 24 victories a season. His Razorback ceams won five Southwest Cor.farer.ee titles and made nine straight trips to the NCAA tournament - - a feat matched only by North Carolina.    With a 5-1 start as Kentucky's head coach, Sutton's overall 17-year college coaching record is now 347-126.
CHARLIE HARRISON is now in his fourth season at East Carolina, where he has compiled a 31-59 record.    His five-year overall coaching record now stands at 37-81.
DAVE BLISS is now in his sixth season at SMU, where he has led the .Mustangs to a 86-70 record.    He is in his 11th year as a college head coach and his record now stands at 163-132.
JIM HARRICK is now in his seventh season at Pepperdine, where he
has compiled a 119-62 mark. That is also his overall coaching record.

SEAN HIGGINS. 6-8. 175 lbs., JR.. 18.0 ppg., 9.0 rpg., 3.0 apg.. Fairfax H.S./Los Angeles, CA. A comment by Fairfax Coach Harvey Kitani best sums up the talent of Sean Higgins. "I go home very' night saying I can't believe he is only a junior." As a sophomore. Higgins led Fairfax to a 25-2 record and the Los Angeles 3A title ... names Los Angeles 3A Player of the Year ... Devastating outside shooter", claims West coast scout Don Meade ... tremendous range on his shot ... marvelous repertoire of offensive moves ... superb foot work and balance ... like a great crap shooter, Higgins can get on a roll and become unstoppable offensively ... "I think Sean has a chance to become a truly great player." said Nike executive Sonny Vaccaro ... definitely capable of playing guard in college ... needs additional weight and strength, but already has big time skills ... style of play and thin physique bring up camparisons to George Gervin and Reggie Williams ... very impressive at the Nike All-American camp and played on a team which won the Las Vegas Invitiational during the summer ... plays hard and has a great hunger for the game ... very rjoised on the floor ... native of Michigan who moved to California three years ago ... his father. Earl Higgins, played for Eastern Michigan and the Indiana Pacers ... will be the most highly recruited player on the West coast next year.
McDowell Verbally Commits To Claiborne's Cats
All-State grid product Paul McDowell, of Louisville Ballard, joins Coburn Clark (Daviess County) and Carlos Phillips (Owensboro Senior) to the list of verbal commitments to the University of Kentucky
McDowell, a 6-foot-l, 195-pound linebacker started three years for the Bruins. While playing linebacker during his sophomore campaign. McDowell also played quarterback and linebacker during his junior year, and fullback, quarterback and linebacker in his final campaign.
He helped lead the Bruins to a 4-A state
runner-up title m 1984 (10-4 record) and a 10-2 mark in 1985 season.
McDowell rushed for 408 in 83 attempts while scoring five times.
Earlier two western Kentucky 4-A specimen Clark. 6-3, 245-pound lineman, and Phillips, 6-2, 215-pound linebacker announced they would be suiting up for Claiborne next season. * * * *
