Politician. Haly was at one time Adjutant-General of the Kentucky State Guards. He was also a prominent figure in the state's Democratic Party and active in flood relief work in Louisville during the 1937 flood. He died of pneumonia in February 1937.
The microfilm copy of the scrapbook contains clippings, photographs and other materials about Haly, his career, and his family. It also contains clippings about the Goebel-Taylor contest for governor in 1900 and a copy of Urey Woodson's June, 1931 speech before the Kentucky Press Association, entitled, "The Good Old Days."
