”Anemia?

We extend thanks to those who have advertisements in this program.
We also thank those who are listed as patrons for this high degree of co-
operation. We are grateful to each of you for your contribution to the
success of this, "The Fifth Annual Musicale of Central High School.”
T 0 those who have planned the program and to all who are participating,
we give special thanks.

The proceeds of this project are to help purchase additional uniforms
and band instruments for the Central High School Band.

Central High School has been honored by having one of its students,
Malcolm Rucker, chosen to represent the city of Louisville in a ”Week
'End With Music” in New York City in cooperation with the New York
Philharmonic Orchestra. We also have had one of our students, Miss
Priscilla Shelton, chosen as the guest soloist with the Louisville Phil-
harmonic Society.

We are also pleased to announce to the public that during the "Evalu-
ation of Central High School” in March, 1949, the visiting committee rated
the music department of Central High School as ”Very Superior”.

FOREWORD

“7e extend thanks to those who have advertisements in this program. We
also thank those who are listed as patrons for this high degree of cooperation.
We are grateful to each of you for your contribution to the success of this, “The

Sixth Annual Musicale of Central High School.” To those who have planned

the program and to all who are participating, we give special thanks.

The proceeds from this project are to help purchase additional uniforms
for the Central High School Band, the Girls’ Drum and Bugle Corps, and the

Special (lhorus.

The Central High School Special Chorus has appeared on the programs of
other Louisville high schools and of various church and civic groups. In all
cases words of commendation have been received for their high type of perform-
ance. \Ve aim to serve our community, and we sincerely appreciate these op-

portunities for service.

Construction of our new Central High School building is to be started by
September, 1950, and very soon we shall have the facilities to serve in a larger

way as a community school.
