The J.T. Hatfield collection on steamboats (undated, 38 items) includes photographs of Hatfield and other steamboats. J.T. Hatfield was the founder of the Hatfield Coal Company and the president of the Hatfield-Reliance Coal Company, formed in 1924.

Collection Overview

Biography / History
James T. Hatfield founded the Hatfield Coal Company, based in Covington, Kentucky, in 1892. Later he became the president of the Hatfield-Reliance Coal Company--a 1924 merger of his own company and other coal companies.
Scope and Content
The J.T. Hatfield collection on steamboats photographs (undated; 0.3 cubic feet; 38 items) consists of images of steamboats. The collection includes one mounted albumen and one stereocard of the Blanford family from Massachusetts. Noted photographs include a picture of Virginia Hatfield, Louise Hatfield Stickney, and Gerald Ford.
