Scope and Content

These are the records and minutes of the Williamstown Temperance Society, September 11, 1842 - February 23, 1846. Included in the record book is the constitution of the society, a temperance pledge (adopted at the November 29, 1845 meeting) with a list of names attesting to the pledge and minutes of the society meetings. With the February 10, 1846 meeting the name of the society was changed to "Washingtonian Society". At the back of the volume, the pledge is repeated with an additional list of names attached.
