Looked over proposed sites for demonstration orchard.
The site for this orchard was finally selected in November
and a five acre orchard will be planted this spring under the
direction of the Department of Extension.
Horticultural and Poultry Special.
July 15-24.
This train was conducted over the L. & N. and L. & E.
lines in Eastern Kentucky. An average of about five stops
a day was made, and it is safe to say that 4,000 people were
informed of the work of the Experiment Station.
Potato Club Work.
October 26—November 3. A
A tuber unit system of seed selection was undertaken in
cooperation with County Agent Merriman of Jefferson `
County. The results were very gratifying and they will be
announced later on. This work is very important in this
locality because it is one of the most important second crop
potato producing sections in the country.
San jose Scale Campaign.
A week was spent during the month of December work-
ing in cooperation with County Agent Faulkner combating _
V San Jose Scale. This is one of the most satisfactory lines of
work attempted in horticulture, and it is planned to carry
on several weeks work during the coming year with other
agents.

ln addition to the above over 600 inquiries covering
various phases of orchard practice were answered. Two ,
circulars were printed and distributed Orchard Spray _
Calendar and Varieties of Fruit for Kentucky. Several
press bulletins were prepared for newspaper circulation.
