As our State produces a large amount of tobacco, several
analyses have been made of all the types grown in Kentucky
for the purpose of comparing the total amounts of sulfur and
phosphorus contained therein. Only the leaf proper was used
in this work, the midrib or stem being removed. The sulfur
was determined by the sodium peroxidemethod and the phos-
_ phorus by the magnesium nitrate method. "’ The results
