Biography/History

Evan Williams was a whiskey distiller in Jefferson County, Ky. His granddaughter married William Carr Fenley.

Scope and Content

This collection consists primarily of the papers of the descendants of Isaac Fenley, of Jefferson County, Ky. It also includes some materials relating to Evan Williams, including a receipt for his steerage passage from London to Philadelphia in 1784. It also includes indentures and surveys for Fenley lands in Jefferson County, receipts, property inventories, business and personal correspondence, an account book, and family Bible records.
