·` The first tavern license in the county was issued on June 28, lG24, to
d Thomas Myers to operate a tavern in his home, "whereupon he gave bond in the
amount of 100 pounds, with George Calhoun, Thomas Stevenson, Dr. Joseph K.
Lane, and Jonathan Simmons as his securities." The court at the same time
y regulated the tavern rates in Commonwealth paper as follows:
