      Board met at office of Breckinridge and Shelby and adjourned to meet at same
place on June 27 1879.

University of Kentucky Board of Trustees Meeting Minutes - 1879, June 27

      Lexington, Ky. June 27th 1879, Board met at office of Breckinridge and Shelby
pursuant to adjournment. Present Messrs. Metcalfe, Hoke, Hardin, and Moran.

      On motion, Mr. Moran was chosen Secretary pro tem.

      The minutes of the two previous meetings were read and approved.

      On motion, the Executive Committee was ordered to make the annual settlement
with the Treasurer.

      The Treasurer reported a balance on hand of $487.17.

      The following resolution was unanimously adopted viz (specifically): Resolved
that the Board of Visitors of the Agricultural & Mechanical College have learned with
regret the action of the Board of Curators of Kentucky University in reference to the
petitions presented by donors and citizens of Lexington and vicinity asking them to
concede a part of Ashland and Woodland for the permanent location of the Agricultural
& Mechanical College.
      On motion Professor Helveti was elected to fill the chair of Modern Languages
that vice Professor Pickett resigned; and the Executive Committee is directed to make an
arrangement with him at a salary not to exceed eight hundred dollars, and to assign the
studies to be taught by him.

      The Board then adjourned sine die.
