RULES
(continued trom pg. 442)
A new interest in sports for two to tour people revived, with games like: backgammon, chess, karate, cyclying, back-packing, air hockey, soccer and the most popular tennis. Even board games were on the
rise.
An old familiar new sound came about in music. With John Denver "Thank God I'm a Country Boy," came a revival of the country. However, the Allman Brothers, the Eagles and America kept rock on the scene. Instrumental like "Auto Bon" to oldies like "You're Sixteen," "Mr. Postman," "Judy in the Sky" and "Paper Roses," kept the charts soaring with hits. Other popular hits were: "I Got the Music," "Lady Marmalade," "It's Only Rock 'n Roll" and "Best of My Love."
"The year of sequals" could be the only way to express 1974. From "Airport" to "Airport 75," "The Godfather" to "The Godfather II," "Billy Jack" to "The Trial of Billy Jack," and "The Three Musketeers" to "The Four Musketeers," sequels kept movie-goers busy. Disaster pictures also hit high. After the thrills of the "Poisedon" Adventure," students were ready to shovel money out for "The Towering Inferno" and "Earthquake." Other popular movies were: "The Longest Yard," "The Groove Tube", "That's Entertainment," "Young Frankenstein," "Funny Lady", "Chinatown," "Waldo Pepper," "JAWS" and "Tommy." Regardless of the recession, unemployment or whatever, student entertainment on movies, records and clothing didn't seem to -be hampered. 7f
