                   SALE OF PROPERTY OWNED BY
          UNIVERSITY OF KENTUCKY RESEARCH FOUNDATION
                 IN CHARLOTTESVILLE. VIRGINIA

Recommendation: that the University approve the sale of
property owned by the University of Kentucky Research
Foundation (UKRF) at 1008 Sheridan Avenue, Charlottesville,
Virginia.

Background: David I. Carter made a gift of the subject
property to UKRF on December 22, 1993. The University now
desires to approve the sale of this property by UKRF with the
understanding that the proceeds from such sale will be applied
to the Janet Galloway Chair in Rehabilitation Medicine at the
University.

The University, on behalf of UKRF, has requested proposals from
five reputable realtors in the Charlottesville area to list the
property for sale. One of these realtors will be selected to
work with the University in accomplishing this sale by UKRF.
The property will be offered for sale by UKRF at a price not
less than its appraised value.
