L Definition of Residence for Payment of Fees fc
l. For the purpose of assessing fees, no person will be considered m
, _ eligible to register in the University as a resident student un-
less he has resided in the state for twelve consecutive months
. next preceding the date of his original enrollment.
2. The legal residence of minors will follow that of the parents or
legal guardians, except in the case of minors who have always
resided in Kentucky but whose legal guardians are residents
. of other states.
l 3. No student shall be deemed to have gained residence privileges
i at the University by his mere presence at the institution. A
p student once classified as a non—resident will continue to be
I thus classified unless he can establish a change of domicile by
' evidence other than his residence as a student. _ h

Y classified under the foregoing provisions. T
. . Refund of Fees  
\ The registration fee and any late registration fee assessed are
never refunded, and no other fees are refunded after the sixth u
i week of a quarter. Students leaving during the first six weeks of s
a quarter will receive a refund, the amount of which will depend s
upon the date of withdrawal. t·
During the first week after the opening of either term of the I
Q summer quarter, students withdrawing from the University may t
receive a refund not to exceed 70 per cent of all fees paid. During
the second week a refund of 50 per cent may be secured and during K
the third week a refund of 30 per cent. In no case shall the amount 0
refunded exceed 70 per cent and in no case will refunds be made t
after the first three weeks. 3
· A refund will not be granted unless the student makes his  
withdrawal official. All refunds must be claimed within the fiscal 1
year of the withdrawal. 2
Living Expenses t
L The cost of room and board in the residence halls for women i
i is $360 a year (fall, winter, and spring quarters). Rooms in the S
A men’s residence halls range in price from $30 to $40 a quarter and 1
A board may be obtained in the University cafeteria for a minimum (
of $10 per week.
l Following are estimates of minimum expenses for an academic 1
l year, not including the general deposit or the deposit for military ,
~ . uniforms. The actual expenses, of course, vary greatly according to ]
the habits of economy or extravagance of the individual student. ` l
Fees for law students are $9.00 more than the amounts shown, and {
