· Other Cultural Opportunities. The University provides many  
,   other cultural opportunities in addition to the regular convocations  
g and musicales. Some of the colleges hold assemblies regularly at
` { which matters of college interest are discussed. The various de- - U
{ partments bring special lecturers to the University. The Art De-
  partment introduces not only to its students, but also to the whole
Z University, exhibits of great paintings, of etchings, and of draw-
j ings. The Music Department sponsors a philharmonic orchestra,
U a University band, a men’s glee club and a women’s glee club, all
J of which give concerts and furnish music for convocations. The
' Y.M.C.A. sponsors a series of forums and informal discussions in
  the Student Union, the men’s dormitories, and in the various fra-
] ternities. The Cosmopolitan Club, composed of students born in
i foreign countries and some from the United States, studies through ‘
U the various departments and activities of the University the social,
political, and cultural life of foreign countries. Departmental
i clubs add effectively to the cultural life of the University.
Each year the Guignol Theatre presents a series of plays in
which students, faculty, and others interested in dramatics may
participate. Regular radio programs are broadcast daily, except
_ Saturday and Sunday and special broadcasts are given frequently.
These radio programs are participated in by students and faculty
members. They originate in the University Studios in Lexington
_ and are broadcast through the facilities of the University’s new FM U
