The Degree of B. S. in Medical Technology 1  
The Department of Bacteriology affords opportunity for stu- Z‘
dents to gain the A. B. or B. S. degree with bacteriology as a major, g
and also provides a curriculum in Medical Technology. The cur-
riculum in Medical Technology is prescribed throughout and leads Y
to the degree of Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology. This C
, course is designed to prepare men and women for positions in  
, hospital laboratories, physicians’ and surgeons’ clinics, and federal,  
state, and municipal public health laboratories, and to fit the _ ’
especially adapted student for either commercial or research labor-
atory work in bacteriology. It also meets all the requirements of
the United States Civil Service Commission for the rank of Junior
Bacteriologist. , —
The University of Kentucky, in affiliation with the Good .
Samaritan Hospital, is registered, through the Department of "
Bacteriology, as an approved school for the training of medical
technologists by the Board of Registry of the American Society of t
Clinical Pathologists, and by the Council on Medical Education and L
Hospitals of the American Medical Association.
