Dear Victor:

Here is the proof. I need not say that as usual I am very
pleased. with it. The uncial will be very suitable for the material.
I have filled in the number of the volume (73) and approve your
change of the title. So here is the proof with no corrections
except the ones already anticipated.

I am especially happy with the beautiful appearance of the
pages of your classical art. Perhaps some day you can do sorlet‘ring
of mine along those lines too. As for the thesis I may say that
I am really in agreement with. all that you say, and that I
heartily approve of your distinction between city art and cave
art: but then at last we come to my incorrigible preference for
cave art. I cannot do otherwise, because I think that city art
is in itself less capable of being sacred. Or W mayoe I am
just a Lascamc man at heart, having; lived so long, or rather
at such an mportant period, in the midst of the country where
those works existed under the groun . When you come over again we
can talk about problems of style though I find none. And when
would you be coming? The Saturday after l“aster is a good time for
me. (April hth I think). After that I would hardly be free. until
early in May. Ithat say you? Best wishes and bleSSingS' wwcfim
