Dear Fred:
Please accept my congratulations as the President
Elect of the American Medical Association. I have been so
infernally busy with a lot of accumulated details since I
got back last Saturday that am just getting to correspondence.
Of course, the responsibility of leading the or-
ganized medical profession at the present is a tremendous
responsibility. I feel very sure that you will be able to
handle the situations which may arise after you have to as-
» sume the actual‘%eat in the driver's box. I cannot immagine
two men more capable of leading things at the present time
than Frank Lahey as President and you as President Elect.
I shall look forward to having you attend the meet-
ings of the Executive and Finance Committees and of the full
Board. If I might be allowed to offer a suggestion to you,
S it would be that you should make an especial effort to do
this. As President Elect you will gain much information which
i will be of inestimable value to you, as you travel about the
country addressing various groups. These are the details
which I find the physicians throughout the country are anxious
to know about.
· Again, congratulations and all good wishes.
Yours, A
