Dear Fred, I
y I just received your letter and I want to express
I my appreciation of what you said in this letter. I will place
it in the family archives and hand it down to my daughters. It
is deep satisfaction to me to have your confidence and this has
always been a great help to me. You deserve credit for the job
that I have done. Your influence has spread throughout the entire
medical corps. In my opinion you have exerted more beneficial
influence than any other one person in the medical corps.
. I A Mike DeBakey tells me I have to write a history. I I
don't want to do this but I guess there is no alternative. If
this is your desire I will do it before I leave my desk here.
