_ Dear Fred:
This is a little late, I know, in sending my congratu-
lations on your election of President of the American
Medical Society.
Little did I think, when we started out in 1909, that
“one of our boys would make it", and I want you to know how
proud I am that you have achieved all you have, and that
there has been recognition for the long hours and hard work
you have put in, in attaining the position you have ar-
rived at.
I was laid up with an attack with my old prostate(what
is left of it) so missed seeing you at the Meeting. I re-
ceived a notice of your new book and am anxious to see it.
A. B. is with his daughter in El Paso, Texas, Mrs. J.
G. Mott, 817 Kerbey Street. Heéhas been there since
November 3d, when he suffered the first coronary attack.
About two weeks ago, he had the third one, and he is rather
low in spirits. Letters from those,whom he cared for,have
been a great satisfaction to him. I know that a note from
you would give him a boost. I might say that he has always
thought a lot of you and has been so interested in your
O&TB8?•
