L Dear Fred:
No one is more delighted than I am about your election to the Presidency
of the American Surgical! · .
It griped me a bit that it was not done sooner, and I frankly said so at
Quebec. Anyway, it is all water over the dam now, and you know I am always
» happy about anything nice that comes your way. ‘
I was also pleased with Nate's election as Secretary. In the wee small
hours of the morning, in Fred Golker's room, they were talking about it,
I and I had no idea that he would be chosen. They were kidding me, saying
that they thought that you and I should take the job on together. I could
V think of no poorer choice on the second part. y p
With my love to Edith, I am
