Dear Fred: A
In order to let you know how far behind at times I am about what's _
happening to my friends and to surgical progress, only yesterday did I find out
that the American Surgical Association had done the sensible thing about electing
a new president. ‘
As you might have heard, I had a coronary about three years ago, and since
then going has been pretty hard for me because I don't want to stay quiet and the
slightest unusual activity gets my breath, however, I did not want to write you about
my own complaints.
I wanted to let you know how happy I am that this great honor has come your “
F way. You certainly deserve it and you are an honor to our Society.
With every good wish, I remain,
Sincerely your friend,
