Remember 1984?
Hey  Kenny!  You  remember  1984 in Nashville? Figured you did.
Well, Chuck Person and Sonny Smith remember that night in Music City also. It was a night when a Sky Walker jumper danced a jiggle on the rim and then fell through the net as the horn sounded for a two-point win and the championship of the 1984 SEC Tournament, the only one for UK since the tourney was revived back in 1979.
Saturday night, Auburn just might have a chance to make amends on the Wildcats' home floor. But it says here the home floor will be the difference and UK will become the first school to win two SEC tourney titles since the early 1950s.
Speaking of Kentucky's possibilities of winning at Rupp Arena, it's interesting to note that Kentucky failed to win the title the only time the tourney has been played at Rupp Arena, that Vanderbilt did not win when it was played in Nashville and that Alabama has never won it in Birmingham.
Yet, Alabama won the title in Lexington and UK won the event in Nashville.
