     W. Contract with Fayette County Board of Education.

     President Donovan submitted the following contract between the
Fayette County Board of Education and the University, and recommended
that it be approved.


                              CONTRACT

         THIS AGREEMENT made and entered into this the 2nd day
    of January, 1946, by and between the Fayette County Board
    of Education, through its chairman,, W. P. Pemberton, and
    secretary, D. Y. Dunn, and the University of Kentucky,
    through its president, H. L. Donovan, and comptrollers Frank
    D. Peterson, all of Fayette Cotmty, Lexington, Kentucky:

                       W I T N E S S E T H:

         That Whereas on December 18, 1945, the Federal Public
    Housing Authority allocated 12 portable duplex trailers
    which include 24 dwelling units, to the Fayette County
    Board of Education for the benefit of Lafayette Trade Schools
    and

         Whereas, it was later determined that the administration
    and operation of these units could be more efficiently ef-
    fected by their being located on the grounds at the Universi-
    ty of Kentucky together with other similar units allocated
    to the University, which site has the advantages of city
    sewer connections and fire and police protection, and

         WHEREAS the utilization of the above mentioned housing
    facilities can be more fully realized for the benefit of
    veterans under one management;

         NOW, THEREFORE, the Fayette County Board of Education
    appoints Frank D. Peterson as its agent to manage the hous-
    ing units allocated to the Fayette County Board of Education
    and slid Fr:ank D. Peterson is authorized to make and sign
    all reports required by the Federal Public Housing Authority;
    and the University of Kentucky, through its duly authorized,
    undersigned officers does hereby agroo to manage the housing
    units allocated to the Fayette County Board of Education and
    located on the grounds of the University of Kentucky; and
    to reserve six (6) family units of the houses alloted to the
    County Board for the benefit of "eligible tenants" designated
    by said Board, proVided, however, that these may be used
    by the University any time the Board does not name an eligible
    tenant within thirty (30) days after the house becomes va-
    cant; and to assume, without further reimbursement from the
    Fayette County Board of Education, all the rights, privileges
    and obligations of the Fayette County Board of Education in
    Contract for Bailment said Board executed with the United
    States of America through Federal Public Housing Authority$
